We like to challenge ourselves and reach these goals, but this means nothing if we do not use our skills and knowledge in order to serve others.
I feel lucky as I am working in a place where this approach is part of our daily lives. The easy part of the challenge is to make the run, but it will be only useful if we can help people with disabilities to find a job and enjoy it.

That is why I ask you to support our virtual journey and help people with disabilities to get work and fulfil their lives.

As a leader working in IT I am in the position where I can find goals and challenges easily. Unfortunately there are others who cannot say this about themselves therefore I was thinking a lot how could we help them. Our corporate culture inspires us to help people to reach their full potential to serve others. Working plays a very important role in one’s life. If we can help people with disabilities to find workplaces, we can create a more beautiful world.
This challenge won’t be difficult because of the distance, but because we really want to help as many people as possible. Therefore I ask your help to support our Journey! For us, it’s a challenge, but for the people this means a better and more beautiful life.

Thanks to my workplace I have the opportunity to draw attention to something which is very important to me. We decided to walk around the Earth in a year. What is our goal? With this initiative we want to help people with disabilities to find jobs. Please support us and adopt one of my kilometers!

I was always excited about the idea of being part of greater projects – greater at least for me – which are aiming to help others.
This challenge is typically fits into such thoughts: individuals like us are creating something really valuable together. Common goals make good relationships, forging people together – and I am even more happy to participate this with my colleagues.
It might be a cliche but we are more powerful together, and what would be a better example for this statement than the Journey itself. In addition, it encourages everyone for a more healthy lifestyle which gives extra motivation of someone who spend the most of the time in front of the computer.

Doing good to others is not a duty, but a joy, for it feeding our own mental health and happiness too. Cheering a stranger up with a nice word, helping someone cross the street, helping the fallen, or the ones who are in trouble. From little things big things grow, and we can work together to improve our environment, thereby also the world we live in. Why would we drown in passivity, why would anyone care about just him/herself, ignoring others?
There is no you, or me..but we are.
Why wouldn’t we unite at Liferay, to achieve a common goal, turning the seemingly impossible into reality?

“A little bit of movement does not hurt anyone!” was the posy of the evening gymnastic practice TV show in the ’80s. That’s right, indeed we can help with it in the present case. There is a benefit for everyone: for people who participate and even those for whom we do this.

I enjoy all kind of sports and the feeling that I belong to a team. I would like to help others.

In the last close to 5 years I tried to live a bit healthier, or at least start to do some sports. Now for five years I’ve been running routinely, lately on rough terrain, on performance tours as well. My nature makes me like to help others, so this is a great opportunity to serve a great cause with my hobby. I hope we’ll be able to gather enough supporters, and with the the help of them allow people with disabilities to find jobs. If everything goes well (my goal to run 3000+ kms this year) than I’ll be able to contribute with 10% of the road to the common cause.

It’s dead simple. It’s good doing good things, to help others. Furthermore, if others, like my company in this case support this with their philosophy and besides it costs nothing too, how can I not do that?

I love the challenges, no matter how tough, if I have a goal with that, I will certainly do my best to achieve it. I am glad that I can work in a place where the core values of corporate culture are based on people-centeredness. “Journey Around the World” by Liferay Hungary is a challenge that emphasizes a healthy lifestyle, giving disabled people the opportunity to become fully part of our society and get employment opportunities through the Hand in Hand Foundation.
With a joint effort 40,000 km can be accomplished in one year. Similar way, together we can improve the living conditions of others. It only depends on us to help others!

An old proverb says that if you travel alone you will go faster, but if you travel with others, you will go farther.
I joined Liferay’s journey around the world to see how far we can go together. On a virtual map, and in living our values, while supporting and inspiring others to do the same.
